Halifax turned into a mini-Beirut last night as the Lebanese Film Festival in Canada (LFFC) celebrated its second day with the now-legendary Party Night at Diman Association Canada. Only the Lebanese could turn a film festival party into a full-blown wedding without the bride. The ad said “9 PM sharp,” but naturally, everyone showed up at 10:30 — right on time, by Lebanese standards.
The Vibe: Loud, Proud, and 100% Lebanese
Lebanese from all walks of life showed up, from students to business owners to politicians’ cousins twice removed. Rumor has it that even a lawyer from Montreal was spotted on the dance floor. about as likely as spotting a polar bear in Tripoli.
Even the young owners of Crumbl, the firebrand dessert outpost, made an appearance. Sure, they’re no Taylor Swift, but close enough for Halifax. 🍪
DJs, Dancing, and Dany the Grasshopper

🎶 Pure fire. Deejay Milo.C and the awesome Joey Daniel, volunteering to set the place on fire, had the crowd bouncing, twisting, and forgetting their 9-to-5s. Every drop hit harder, every mix smoother, the insane light & sound system, the stage setting and the vibe! pure energy all night long. The beats were so good that even Dany, our newly imported King Kong, couldn’t stop jumping.
Dany, ya zalameh, we love your energy, but remember… those are wooden structures, and you’re no grasshopper — so beware. 🦗

The Tornado Behind the Scenes
None of it would have happened without Tatiana, the unstoppable tornado, our newest Lebanese addition from Qatar event planning, whose energy could power the Halifax skyline.
Backed by the unbeatable Peggy, Sandra, Mony, and Daisy, the event ran with Lebanese precision (which means eventually, but beautifully). 💃

Drinks, Charity, and Cold Surprises
The bar was lively, the laughter contagious, and even Nasr Arab the president of DAC was spotted smiling. The profits were going to his older than Halifax nonprofit club. Moments later, he was outside in the cold, dealing with what would become the climax of the evening. ❄️
When the Fire Department Joins the Party
It was meant to be a youth event — but let’s be honest, most of the crowd hasn’t been youth-adjacent since the 90s. 😅 The crowd was all ages, the liquor was flowing, and the heat rose so high that even the fire department decided to join.
Shawarma, Pizza, Mint, and a Taste of Home

City Shawarma didn’t let the night pass quietly — they showed up armed with shawarma amuse-gueules, while Mint Catering and Jean Gharib offered tactical support from the culinary front lines. And of course, Randy’s Pizza covered the flanks beautifully with their delicious pies. All were contributing with heart, not invoices🌯

A Night to Remember

By midnight, the music was still thumping, hugs were still flying, and someone was still shouting “Yalla, one more song!”
It was chaotic, warm, and absolutely Lebanese — a night that reminded us that no matter where we live, we’ll always bring a bit of home with us. ❤️
An exquisite success — by any standard.
